VELOX Tubasti – Adhesive for Tubular Tyres (Tubulars)

Description: VELOX Tubasti is a classic, well-tested adhesive for mounting tubular tyres (also known as "tubulars") on rims without hooked edges. It is primarily used for road and track cycling, where tubular tyres are still preferred for their low weight and rolling resistance.

Features:

• Type: Water-based latex adhesive

• Use: For gluing tubular tyres to aluminium or carbon rims

• Colour: White when applied, becomes transparent when dry

• Consistency: Thick, paste-like

• Easy application: Can be applied with fingers, a brush, or a spatula

• Cleaning: Tools and hands can be cleaned with water as long as the adhesive has not dried

• Non-flammable: Unlike solvent-based adhesives

Technical specifications:

• Contents: The tube contains approximately 25 grams

• Curing time: 12–24 hours are recommended for full curing, but tyres can typically be mounted after 1–2 layers have dried (multiple layers increase strength)

• Shelf life: Long-lasting if the tube is kept closed

Please note:

• Tubasti is primarily recommended for aluminium rims. For carbon rims, consider using a specific adhesive approved for higher heat generation.

• Should not be used at high temperatures (e.g., during mountain riding), where the adhesive's strength may be compromised.
