Rene-Herse TC Umtanum Ridge Endurance | 650B x 55 mm | Dark Tanwall

Umtanum Ridge is the ultimate 650B bikepacking tire, designed for trips where you don’t know what lies ahead. The tire is named after a steep, desolate mountain in the central Cascade Mountains, which still bears its original Native American name today.

Road.cc magazine awarded Umtanum Ridge its coveted ‘Recommended Tyre’ badge and commented: “A great, supple tire for all kinds of off-road use, and fast and quiet on the road.”

The tire’s large, widely spaced knobs provide grip when conditions get tough. On asphalt, it rolls and corners like a slick thanks to the strategically placed knobs, which always ensure the same amount of rubber is in contact with the road. Umtanum Ridge features noise-reduction technology in which offset tread blocks create overlapping noise frequencies that partially cancel each other out. This means that Umtanum Ridge not only rolls as quickly as a slick, but is also just as quiet.
