Note: Facing the bottom bracket shell surfaces is absolutely essential to ensure that bottom brackets with externally mounted cups and bearing races (e.g. Campagnolo Ultra Torque, Shimano Hollowtech II) sit precisely parallel in the frame.

Important: The letters on the tool always refer to the tool. If an "R" is marked on one side, it refers to a classic thread with a clockwise rotation direction. If an "L" is marked, the rotation direction is counterclockwise. It does not refer to the bicycle's side, as there is no fixed reference system here!
