History and details

  • Brooks England was founded in Birmingham in 1866 as JB Brooks & Co., originally producing horse harnesses and leather goods.

  • Production of bicycle saddles began in the 1880s; the B17 model has been in production since around 1898 with a largely unchanged design.

  • The leather naturally shapes itself to the rider, creating a personalized comfort experience known as “Designed by hand, shaped by you”.

  • Optimal comfort is achieved through regular use and proper leather care, especially protection against moisture.
